I live with my dad right now and this past week I had the entire house to myself! It was so nice to be able to run around my house naked and pretend like I had an audience...is that weird? completely! But it was a most excellent time. My dad left on the 8:15am boat Friday morning with his new girlfriend. They went to visit my older brother, Willy and his fiancée in New York City. I was really excited to be able to sleep in (especially considering my insomnia has returned with a nasty vengeance). Every night for the past month and a half has gone like this:
- get into bed at 10:30pm
- put in a DVD of either Two and a Half Men or Roseanne
- make a cup of sleep aid tea
- watch a few episodes, turn the volume all the way down to 1 and lie down
- attempt to sleep without having my mind race (it does anway)
- spray a couple squirts of this sleep remedy homeopathic stuff my sister got for me (I swear to Christ it's tequila)
- and AGAIN attempt to sleep
- when it gets to be 5am and I can hear the birds chirping, I know I'll fall asleep soon after
- then wake up at 8am and pretend that I got more than 3 hours of sleep
- turn the volume up on my TV a little bit and watch the rest of the episodes on the DVD
So while my dad was gone I somehow managed a few extra hours each night (SCORE!). Last Friday, when he left, I spent the day cleaning the house from top to bottom because I was expecting company that evening!

Ali & I (yea...I've got gorgeous friends) |
My good friend Ali and I have been trying to hang out with a specific person for a while now but every time we made plans with them something would happen and the plans would never follow through. So we made plans to have a PJ's (not to be mistaken with BJ's) + movie night at my house for Friday night with this person.
|
It's funny because this hints at a threesome---that DID NOT happen I promise you. |
We picked this person up at a birthday party that attended. When we pulled in the parking lot, Ali and I for one reason or another starting speaking in accents that we never figured out the origin of. We ended up driving around the lot trying to find where our person was, if he was outside yet. Eventually we decided it was best to just pick a parking spot and wait, so we did. While jamming out to some serious tune-age, I spotted a friend of the person we were there to pick up. This person (ok I think these people need nicknames now or this will become very confusing) so the person I saw we will call.....um....Box. Ok so I saw Box standing outside talking to someone and Ali and I haven't talked to him in a long time so I pointed out to her that he was standing by the entrance, so naturally we were both looking back trying to see if the person we were there to get was talking to him too.

It was kind of like this..without actually being terrified |
While we were looking backwards, the person we were there to pick up sneakily stood in front of the driver's side window without letting us know he was there. I turned my head around to say something to Ali, saw him standing in the window and SCREAMED at the top of my lungs cause he scared the shit out of me. I was not expecting to see someone standing at the window like that, it was hilarious. But when I screamed Ali screamed because I scared her, then she looked out the window at what scared me and screamed AGAIN. From that moment on we died laughing for at least 5 minutes. He got in the car and said "well done, ladies". It was a truly hilarious moment.
So we get to my house and watch the 2 flicks I picked at the movie store. After some research I decided on May and The Collector.
The first one (May) was really REALLY good. I love Indie horror films, they're always very original and creative. Ali fell asleep towards the end of it though hah. And The Collector was kind of interesting but definitely NEVER ENDED. It had what I like to call The-LOTR-syndrome...(lord of the rings-syndrome) which in translation means: it didn't know when to be over. A direct hint at this problem was when I looked back and realized that BOTH of my guests were passed out by the end of the film....that's never a good sign.
All in all it was a nice night, happy to be with those two.
